Hi I’m Lisa Fisher. Thank you for visiting. So what is ABC Starters all about?

Personally, I have struggled finding a lot of hands-on books to teach my oldest daughter her letters and sounds. I love many of the resources that I have found online. But I always wanted to have physical books and other tools to teach her.

Well, flashcards and workbooks for a 2-3 year old just was not working. I wanted more. I wanted to take a different approach. So I began to create what I could not find.

I wanted to create a book that the child and parent could both partake in. Something that is fun and educational. I am a big proponent for reading to our kids. I have noticed, with my children and others, that they love interacting with the book, pointing and naming things. More importantly, I found it’s an opportunity for us to bond and enjoy the book together.

So the books I’m creating to teach children letters and their sounds employs many interactive and fun techniques such as:

Tracing the letters with their fingers
Breaking the letter up into different parts
Showing lower case and upper case letters
Showing many pictures of things that begin with the letter of the book
Singing
Playing “Find the letter”
Singing To Your Child
